"We are in the midst of our fourth major project with Knight Cabinets and that should speak volumes in and of itself but we hope our insights help someone else discover Knight's considerable capabilities and talents.
Nearly 30 years ago, we worked with George Ritter, Sr., to design and build a kitchen consistent with the style of our rustic, circa 1910, Vermont cottage. The quality was so exceptional that even when we removed them last fall for a full remodel, they were in pristine condition; no small achievement in a harsh micro climate, devoid of any interior temperature control.
In the early 90s, we gut-renovated another kitchen and also needed floor to ceiling dressing room cabinets customized and built for our space. We initially hesitated to work with Knight as our design sensibility for that project meant we sought full overlay, European style cabinetry but we met with George, Jr. and he assured us they could achieve any style desired. Working long-distance with photos (before the Internet era), we provided ample ideas for Knight to follow our dreams and the resultant kitchen and dressing room were again aesthetically more beautiful and structurally superior to standard cabinets found in even high-end kitchen design firms.
2018 found us with an ambitious renovation in a Manhattan high-rise. Here again we sought a sleek, Euro style cabinet, but this time in a high-gloss finish. Assuming it would be easier and more cost-effective to work with a local firm, we first priced this large job with multiple New York area purveyors, but quickly learned our budgetary goals would be much better met by Knight. Our apartment building required that all renovations were completed in an 11-week time frame and George, Jr. assured us they frequently complete both small and extensive remote projects in and around New York City. Utilizing photos found online coupled with Knight's flexibility to make several site visits to New York for precise measurements, we ordered a full kitchen; three bathrooms; a dressing room, Master Bedroom (comprising a full wall of built-ins and custom night stands to match the bed); a gorgeous and highly functional laundry room (complete with a pull-out ironing board) and an unusually-shaped, corner media console. The entire delivery was made within our building's time restrictions; the cabinets are the sleek, minimalist design we desired; the quality and fit so superior that every contractor working in our large building marveled at their solid wood construction, beautiful design, exceptional finish and overall quality.
As if this were not enough, we have come full-circle with Knight as our rustic Vermont cottage is now being converted to a safe home in which to age and George, Jr. has again worked closely with us to make this project come to fruition. Utilizing a beautiful product from Italy which resembles driftwood, George designed and helped refine the ideal layout for a contemporary kitchen, pantry, laundry room and bathroom cabinets, tweaking every fraction of an inch to ensure we again achieve the highest level of customized outcome.
Our renovations may be concluded for the foreseeable future but were any additional cabinets required in our lives, we would immediately turn to Knight for every conceivable need. In our experience, there is nothing you can imagine that they can't bring to fruition.
Lucky are we to have met Knight Cabinets because we live in Vermont, but others as far afield as Ireland, Florida, California and Hawaii have wisely availed themselves of the same superb craftsmanship and attention to every detail.
